I fell in love with this book when I first read it. I’m really looking forward to re-reading it and I don’t do that with many books. The characters are wonderful and it’s creepy, but not so creepy that we don’t want to be there. I would love to read a sequel. Saying that, I have heard rumours that there may be one soon. Neverwhere kept me amused and enthralled from start to finish.

If you change the world, the world will change.
I give Neverwhere 4 out of 5 stars, but that’s only because I compare it to other Gaiman books and some of them are even better. I found this book very funny at times too. It’s fun. I also like that the characters aren’t too developed, we know just enough about them. It helped to make me feel like I was another character, and not an outsider who knows everything about everybody.
“He…” Richard began. “The marquis. Well, you know, to be honest, he seems a little bit dodgy to me.”
Door stopped. The steps dead-ended in a rough brick wall. “Mm,” she agreed. “He’s a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur.”
In case you’re wondering, American Gods is my favourite Gaiman story, which is probably what most people say. What’s your favourite Neil Gaiman book?
