In the past week, my creative journey has been an exhilarating exploration of various artistic realms. Through 11 new drawings and paintings, I’ve ventured into different mediums and styles, each piece a testament to my evolving artistic expression.
Among the collection are striking portraits rendered in ink on A5 cardstock, capturing the essence of subjects with meticulous detail and emotive depth. These portraits serve as windows into the human experience, each stroke breathing life onto the page.
My experimentation with tempera on A4 cardstock has yielded vibrant paintings that dance with color and texture. These pieces invite viewers into imaginative landscapes, where reality and abstraction intertwine to evoke emotion and contemplation.
Delving into geometric drawings, both in ACEO size and slightly larger, I’ve embraced the precision and intricacy of geometric forms. These compositions play with symmetry and pattern, offering a visual feast for the eyes and a meditative experience for the mind.
In one of my signature styles, I’ve intertwined words and faces in ink on A5 cardstock, creating a tapestry of meaning and expression. These pieces blur the lines between art and poetry, inviting viewers to ponder the interconnectedness of language and identity.
A departure from the familiar, I’ve embarked on a new style with blue ink on white A4 cardstock, exploring the minimalist beauty of monochrome. These drawings captivate with their simplicity, each line a deliberate gesture echoing across the page.
Collectively, these 11 creations embody my artistic journey—a fusion of experimentation, introspection, and boundless creativity. As I continue to explore the depths of my imagination, I invite you to join me on this ever-unfolding odyssey of self-expression and discovery.
I found you through your zines about two years ago and always find myself coming back to your work. You really are one of my favourite artists and your work is a great inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing your musings!
Best wishes from a Leeds-based illustrator.
