This new drawing feels like a wild mixture of playfulness and strangeness. At its centre sits a huge blue foot, filling the space like an oversized stamp. Some of the smaller details reveal themselves slowly. A red hand raises a wave. Mask-like heads stare with wide, alien eyes. It’s colourful, funny, slightly unnerving. Exactly how I want it to be. This piece is ink, acrylic, and coloured pencil on A5 card. Continue reading Fruit, Feet, and Faces: A New Drawing
There’s something both ordinary and strange about it. I like how it feels at once direct and mysterious. This piece is now available as an original in my Etsy shop. Thanks for following along with my work — your support means a lot. — Jay Continue reading New Drawing: The Red Foot
I’ve just finished a new piece, and I’m excited to share it with you. This work brings together ink, acrylic and coloured pencil on paper, exploring themes of colour. One of the things I love most about creating new work is the way each piece seems to arrive with its own personality. This one feels playful. Here’s a look at it: The original is now available on Etsy. 👉 OddLittleDrawings.etsy.com Thank you for continuing to support my art. Sharing new pieces with you makes the process feel complete. I’ve just finished a new original painting—and it might be small, but it holds a whole world. This piece is acrylic on wood, framed in a freestanding wooden frame that I painted by hand. The frame itself is just 3.6 x 4.5 cm, making the entire artwork delightfully miniature. The painting is permanently fixed into the frame, and I’ve signed the back. I love working on this scale. You can find the piece now on both Etsy and eBay. Continue reading Tiny Worlds: A New Miniature Painting
